Summer Camps 2021

Blue River Studios summer camps are finally here!

We are so excited to bring our Summer Camps to the Squamish community! We want to create a space that’s fun, inviting and educational, so that our children and yours can exercise not only their bodies, but their creative instincts too!

We are offering two types of camp this summer: the FILMMAKER camps and the WONDER camps.

FILMMAKER camps are geared towards giving children an all-round understanding of the various activities and roles that go into making a film or TV show, through hands-on training and experience, guided by industry professionals. Additionally, children choose a ‘speciality’ that they spend extra time on during the week, allowing them to dive deeper into their chosen areas of interest. FILMMAKER specialities choices are:

  • ACTING – learn more about the craft and skill of acting for films and TV.
  • STUNTS – learn how to choreograph a fight, how to fall/land, and above all, how to stay safe while making it look like you aren’t!
  • BROADCASTING – learn what it takes to be a broadcast journalist: from coming up with a story idea, to interviewing people on camera, to editing together your report for the nightly news!
  • SOCIAL MEDIA – the key to social media is in video, and you’ll learn how to plan, create, edit and post effective videos for your future (or current!) brand!

WONDER camps are focused on a shared love of the outdoors, but isn’t just for those who are go, go, go! Each Wonder camp week follows a theme of either WATER or MOUNTAIN. While the week is based around foundational group activities, there are two specialties for campers to choose from: ADVENTURERS and PLANET PROTECTORS.

  • The ADVENTURERS head out and seek the thrills that nature provides in the Sea to Sky corridor. In a Water week, this could include river rafting, kayaking, swimming, paddleboarding, etc; and in a Mountain week, it could be biking, climbing, high ropes, ziplining, etc (exact activities will be confirmed at a later date).
  • Meanwhile, the PLANET PROTECTORS take a more sedate path to world domination, practicing self-growth skills like gratitude journaling, confidence-building, and mindfulness, and for Mountain weeks also enjoy things like nature walks, hiking path clean-ups, and yoga; while the Water weeks might do marine biology, beach clean-ups, and beach volleyball.

All camps are open to children aged 8 thru 16 (campers will be divided by age group prior to arrival)

Camp price: $350 per week (Mon to Fri) – ADVENTURERS speciality camp: $500 (activity admission fees included)

Daily Schedule:

  • 8:30am  Drop off
  • 8:45am  Camp activities start
  • 3:15pm  Pick up

After camp club: 3:15pm to 6:00pm (Please pick up no later than 6pm) – Additional fee: $120/week

(A Whistler transfer option can be made available if enough families are interested to make it cost effective. This would incur an additional fee to be determined by the number of campers interested.)
